Manpower in ITES/BPO Industry
The Government has been keen to help the youth of the State to acquire skills and knowledge in this important fast growing sector thus, improving their employability. The Government has set up the Institute of Service Management (ISM) also for imparting short-term training programmes for graduates
Student knowledge Forum
The Student knowledge Forum Community is an ever growing group of developers and friends who enjoy working together and learning from each other's experiences. Prof.Ghanta Subba Rao, Ex-officio Secretary, e-Governance & State Chief Information Officer(SCIO), has the vision of forming the Student Knowledge Forums (SKF) through out the state with the trained faculty members and students. Government of Andhra Pradesh has pioneered e-Governance applications in the state. As part of the Human Resource Development that would be required for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining e-Governance projects, he has initiated suitable training programs to the relevant faculty members and students of Colleges conducting B.Tech /MCA /M.Sc (IS) / M.Sc (CS) course(s). Faculty members and best talented students out of each training programme would be used to train the personnel at the subsequent training programme and the chain of such events would continue in this summer of 2003 through SKF. Some of the Colleges have come in touch with the State Chief Information Officer and Volunteered to host the Training programmes for the Faculty members and to the students.
Jawahar Knowledge Center (JKC)
Vision and Objectives:
To locate the JKC at a reputed educational institute as a nodal point for creative activity, best practices - a laboratory for experimentation & innovation for betterment and a repository of agricultural, health, utilitarian and other information.
Activities include:
1.Providing a project environment to the best students in the district
2. Offering training to industry, government, and public
3. Popularizing e-governance initiatives by conducting tours & lecture demos
4.Dissemination of knowledge acquired through official and web sources and generation of data banks & Frequently Asked Question+Answers (FAQs) on all topics of concern for the district.
5.Providing video and teleconferencing facilities to students at first instance, and to all at a later time, to bring about an interaction between experts and novices, users and providers by conducting workshops, seminars and get-togethers etc.
6.Inventorize the assets of the district with, talent pool, research centers, climatic & agricultural data, wages, prices, and industrial data.
